On Wednesday 12 March and Thursday 13 March 13, 2025, Krix welcomed a group of our Australian dealers to Adelaide for an exclusive training event - certifying them as Krix Certified Cinema Designers. This training combined technical learning with hands-on application, ensuring that Krix dealers gain the expertise needed to create high-performance home cinema spaces for their customers.

Day 1: Behind-the-scenes at Krix and a reference cinema experience

The training kicked off with a guided factory tour of Krix’s facilities, providing attendees with an inside look at our manufacturing, demonstration rooms and our research and development areas. Here, they witnessed firsthand the precision and innovation behind Krix speakers, with live demonstrations showcasing the technology that sets our products apart.

From there, the group traveled to the stunning McLaren Vale wine region for an in-depth theory session. This session covered:

• A brief history of Krix and our pioneering role in cinema audio.
• The evolution of our speakers and the science behind horns and waveguides.
• The fundamentals of cinema design, emphasising that modern home cinemas are multi-purpose entertainment spaces - ideal for gaming, music, lounging, and, of course, cinematic experiences.

The evening was a true highlight, as dealers gathered at Wallis Cinema Noarlunga for a reference screening of The Matrix in the renowned Quake cinema. A reference screening ensures that the movie is presented exactly as the director and sound engineers intended, with meticulously calibrated audio and pristine visuals. This experience showcased the unparalleled quality that Krix delivers in both commercial and home cinema settings.

With a behind-the-scenes opportunity, attendees explored the Quake cinema’s technical setup, including a close-up view of the massive speakers and subwoofers hidden behind the colossal screen. They also had the privilege of seeing the exclusive, hand-drawn wiring diagram for the cinema, created by Scott Krix himself on a piece of cardboard in 2019 - a testament to Krix’s longstanding expertise in cinema speakers.

Day 2: Hands-on cinema room design

Day two of the training was all about practical application. Dealers engaged in a hands-on room design workshop, utilising 3D modeling software to create realistic cinema layouts. This exercise challenged them to incorporate real-world design constraints, such as doorways, windows, and air conditioning units, ensuring that they can deliver optimal solutions for customers with diverse home environments.

By the end of the training, every participating dealer had developed a comprehensive 3D design of a home cinema space - reinforcing Krix’s commitment to providing customers with tailored solutions that perfectly integrate into their homes.
